New Album: Peter Wolf Crier - Garden Of Arms
Originally having come across as a frenzied and organic indie folk duo in a vein of similar stature and association to that of perhaps The Dodos, Peter Wolf Crier appear to have diluted their acoustic roots in favour of something glitchy and electronic, Radiohead-esque in form and stream-lined for innovation. Perhaps it is then fitting that as they release their second consecutive LP via the consistently forward-thinking Jagjaguwar Records in the US, they mould more and more to the boundary-pushing guitar music which the label has always prided itself upon.
‘Right Away’ is being given away free in honour; ‘Garden Of Arms’ dropping on September 6th - a date ever more anticipated since the song’s demonstration of choppy, off-time synths and dragged out vocal cries and loops. The overwhelming colours which come out of this arrangement retain that woodsy brown, but with an ever decreasing pallete. Grey has very much seeped in on this latest release; I hope that with the download below you’ll agree as much as you enjoy.
