Go Cozy - Glimmer
This song does for me exactly what Wild Nothing’s O, Lilac did for me last Summer. Awash with languid clean-strums and led by an enchanting lead-guitar line, the vocals sit comfortably (cozily) beneath them both, gazing up at it all. The guitars sprawl out like a fuzzy time-line; in one sense we have a birds-eye view from the mountaintop, but by warm, resonant vocals we are grounded - by very human emotions addressed through simple, naive verse-chorus structures.
In spite of all the evidence pointing to the contrary, Go Cozy aren’t from the 90s, or New York; they are a relatively new conception from near Silver Spring, Maryland who released ‘Glimmer’ in August, and a steady stream of songs up to the present day. Look out for their new single, to drop October 7th via band camp.
